Letter copy book of a New York City attorney, 1819-1831.

Contains copies of letters and notary work, in various hands, from Western to clients and state and federal officials, and several from his brother, Thomas G. Western, with whom he was evidently shared the practice. There are also letters from Henry Western to his brother on shipping business in Havana, Cuba and other legal matters. A few letters are signed by George Wilson, Esq. Many of the letters pertain to maritime law, apparently the Westerns' primary area of interest.

1 v. (250 p.) ; 26 cm.
